Understanding the Summary of Unexcused Attendance report
After the report has run a page will appear with the PDF. The columns to be concerned with are the Absences, Tardies, and Total.
Every three tardies adds an unexcused absence to the Total column.
The total number of unexcused absences are in the last column under Total. This number is equal to the number of absences from the Absences column added to the number of absences accrued from the Tardies column. A student who has 3 Absences and 6 Tardies (equals 2 Absences) will have 5 absences under Total.
In single semester courses (Sem 1 or Sem 2) students lose credit when they exceed 6 unexcused absences.
In full year (FY) courses students lose credit when they exceed 12 unexcused absences.
If you have any questions you can contact your student’s counselor and you can review the North Hunterdon-Voorhees Attendance Policy which can be accessed through the attendance link on the counseling website.
