Peer tutoring is a useful way to help improve student grades. North Hunterdon offers a Math Peer Tutoring program to assist students who are struggling within their math class. Peer tutors are students who have successfully completed specific math courses. If your child is struggling and needs extra help beyond what is available through the classroom, students may contact the advisor in the Math department and set up an appointment to discuss this program. Students are matched with another student who has already successfully been through the particular math course.
Peer tutoring sessions typically take place after school, but may also be done before school or during lunches. Students and their tutors will compare schedules and make the necessary arrangements depending upon their schedules.
Looking to become a tutor? Students who have a passion for math or simply an interest in helping others, should contact the Math teacher who is the advisor to be added to her list of peer tutors. Students may also earn volunteer hours for their efforts. Contact Mrs. Watson
