The Science requirement at Voorhees High School requires that all students successfully complete a three-year sequence in Biology, Chemistry, and Physics.
Due to the diverse talents and abilities of our student body, each course is offered at the College Prep, Advanced, Honors, and Advanced Placement level. All full-year courses are six credits and meet 55 minutes three out of every four days, with one 24-minute lab once every four days.
The Science Department also offers elective courses in Earth Science, Astronomy, Human Anatomy and Physiology, and Environmental Science. Earth Science and Astronomy are one-semester courses, are two and a half credits. Environmental Science and Human Anatomy and Physiology are five credits each.
Advanced Placement courses are offered in Biology, Chemistry, Physics, and Environmental Science.
The AP examination is not required, and the student must pay for the exam. The members of the Science Department strongly recommend that all students taking an AP course take the AP examination.
For a complete description of each science course, please review the district curriculum guide.
