Over the weekend, VHS Unified participated in The Special Olympics New Jersey Dash & Splash in Asbury Park. A huge congrats to the team… for the second year in a row, the VHS Unified team was the top fundraiser in the state, raising almost $12,820, as well the winners of Highest Team participation in the state with almost 50 splashers running into the ocean on Saturday morning! With students well over the fundraising goal, Mr. Peterson ran into the ocean dressed as Buddy the Elf, and earned the team a spot on Live TV! The team was interviewed by John Elliot on the NY CBS morning news!
Turkey Splash participants should report to Room 137 at the conclusion of the announcements for the final team photo; students will return to class immediately after.
Key Club is hosting a Perishable Food Drive this week (November 18 – 22) to help local families for Thanksgiving. Items such as turkeys, vegetables and potatoes are highly encouraged. There will be green bins in front of the school (outside the cafeteria) for items to be dropped off.

The PowderPuff tournament is TODAY. Setup & practice 2:30-3:30. 3:30 – Frosh vs. Jr./ Soph vs. Sr. 4:30 – 3rd place game. 5:15 – 1st place game. Make sure you signed up on the google form, you’re registered for Winter Intramurals and you paid your $10 to Ms. Huizenga
Attention all math-a-letes! The 2nd NJ Math League Contest will be held on Tuesday, November 19th. It is a one-day only event! Be sure to log on to the Google Classroom to gain access to the online contest (Code: zq63ase)
This is the last week for fall intramurals. There will not be activities in the gym but the weight room will be open Monday, Tuesday and Thursday as usual.
A reminder to students who are being dismissed early – you are being sent a Smart Pass from Mrs. Pennucci to report to the Attendance Desk at the appropriate time. Please check your email or smart pass app, show your respective teacher and come to the front desk at the appropriate time.

The annual winter festival craft show hosted by the VHS Music Association will take place on Saturday, November 23rd from 9 AM – 3 PM. There will be over 100 vendors, great food, and music!
Teen Pep will be hosting a community night discussing parent teen communication November 26th at 6pm, refreshments and snacks will be served. Anyone is welcome to attend!
