Counselors met with juniors in English classes on March 5th and March 7th to go over Junior Class Post Secondary Presentation For the Class of 2024.
The powerpoint consisted going over Colleges Fairs, standardized testing plan, YouScience Career Assessment, the SCOIR platform for college and careers, college visits, requesting recommendation letters, NCAA eligibility and the counseling website.
Student Responsibilities
- Create a Collegeboard account and register for SAT and check out the dates here.
- North offers the SAT each May, June, August and October
- Create an ACT account if interested in registering
- Take a look at the PSAT scores from this past October
- Complete Counselor’s Recommendation Questionnaire – Share Google Doc with your counselor by May 26th. This document must be done to have your counselor write recommendation.
- Log into your personal SCOIR account (use sign in with Google)
- Ask teachers to write a letter of recommendation

Over the SUMMER:
- Check transcript for errors on ASPEN
- Create list of colleges in SCOIR from a Search
- Add Colleges to Following List
- Create Common Application Account
- Don’t forget your password!!!!!
- School password with a special character works well!
- Preview applications and review essay questions (New essay questions – Common App)
- Continue College Visits
In the FALL:
- You will be completing applications – we will meet in groups in early September to go over the college process more in depth.
- Submit Transcript Release Forms – see below
Send SAT/ACT/AP Scores to each college through the College Board or ACT websites
