May 5, 2020
As announced by the Governor yesterday, schools will remain closed for in-person instruction for the remainder of the school year. As this has been a stressful time for all of us, we have decided to ease the stress on our students by eliminating final exams for the 2019-2020 school year. Final grade calculations will be adjusted to remove the final exam component. For any student who may have needed the final exam to pass a course, we will develop an alternative plan.
Final exams were scheduled as early dismissal days on June 3, 4, 5 and 8. Those dates will now follow the virtual learning schedule with the two hour delayed opening bell schedule for synchronous learning and the daily rotation schedule. We will adjust our calendars to reflect these changes.
Sincerely,
Jeffrey Bender
Superintendent of Schools
