Dear Members of the Class of 2024 and Parents/Guardians:
We are fast approaching the beginning of another school year. The staff and administration at North Hunterdon High School are looking forward to meeting the Class of 2024. Join with us in a “commitment to excellence” that will make the 2020-2021 school year a productive one for you and everyone in our school community.
CHROMEBOOK DISTRIBUTION & BUILDING ORIENTATION
North Hunterdon High School provides a Freshman Orientation program each year, however, due to the current situation of COVID-19 and social distancing guidelines, our orientation program will look a little different this year. Many of the topics we would cover during the orientation program will be available virtually later this month on the North Hunterdon website. To break up the freshman class into smaller groups for health and safety reasons, we are offering a couple of dates when freshmen can come into North Hunterdon HS to tour the building, pick-up their Chromebook and school planner.
The high school district provides each student with a Chromebook, school email account and Google Drive account. Freshmen students can pick up their Chromebook and attend a building orientation on the afternoon of August 20th or the morning of August 21st during specified times. Students are required to sign up for a specific time slot using the link below. Students only will report to the main gym to start their tour at the beginning of their designated time slot. Students will receive their Chromebook at the end of the tour in Café A. If a student only wants to pick up their Chromebook and not join a tour, they can report directly to Café A during their designated time slot. Tours will run every half hour with no more than 20 students per group. Students may also tour the building independently if they so choose. We encourage all freshmen to bring a print-out or snapshot of their course schedule so it is easy for them to identify their classrooms during the tour (full course schedules will be released in mid-August in Aspen). Parents/guardians may access Aspen to view and print a copy of the course schedule. All students are required to wear masks while in the building.
Transportation will not be provided on any of these days for Chromebook Distribution & Building Orientation.
Please click the following link to sign up for a designated time on August 20th between 1:00-5:00pm or 21st between 8:00am-12:00pm. Please note that you must enter your students’ name in the sign up box.
CHROMEBOOK DISTRIBUTION & BUILDING ORIENTATION SIGN UP
Any student that is unable to come on August 20th or 21st to pick up their Chromebook or register his/her own personal Chromebook can report to the building on Wednesday, August 26th from 10am-1pm to a location to be determined at a later date.
CHROMEBOOK and INTERNET ACCESS AGREEMENT FORMS
Students have the option to accept the district-issued Chromebook or to bring in his/her own personal Chromebook. If your child will be accepting the district-issued Chromebook, he/she will receive a Chromebook on the date and time slot you choose through the sign-up link above. If your child opts to bring his/her own personal Chromebook, please click here for a list of acceptable devices. Your child will need to bring his/her own Chromebook to orientation so we can register the device on the school network.
Parents must complete a Chromebook Agreement form and the Acceptable Use Policy form in Aspen in order for their child to receive a Chromebook and gain access to the Internet and school network. Parents of students bringing their own Chromebook must also fill out an agreement form. These forms are available in Aspen, under Page Directory, then Technology Forms. Please fill out one of the Chromebook agreement forms and the acceptable use policy form prior to August 18 so there is no delay in providing your child with school network access and a Chromebook.
