The North Hunterdon Lady Lions Basketball team along with the Girls Basketball Booster Club will generously pay tribute to the courageous women battling breast cancer in our country as they face the Hunterdon Central Lady Red Devils on February 24, 2015 – Freshmen 3:45pm, JV 5:15pm and Varsity 7:00pm. The game slogan will be “Join the fight – One shot at a time” and the girls will be wearing shirts that have a “J.H.” on their right sleeve in honor of Jennifer Hoban, Kathleen and Meghan Hoban’s mother, who lost her battle with pancreatic cancer 2 weeks ago.
We ask that fans wear “Pink” to support Breast Cancer Awareness or “Purple” to support Pancreatic Cancer Awareness. We will also be recognizing our Lady Lion Basketball and our Cheer Dance Pom seniors prior to the start of the game.
There will be contribution canisters when you walk into the game so please be kind and help fight these deadly diseases.
The American Cancer Society estimates that 232,670 American women will receive breast cancer and 22,890 a pancreatic diagnosis in 2014-2015. Breast cancer is the second most frequently diagnosed cancer in women. It is the leading cause of cancer death among women of all races and populations.
