Congratulations to NHHS senior Selina Zhang who was named by the Society for Science as one of 40 Finalists in the Regeneron Science Talent Search 2024! This is the nation’s oldest and most prestigious science and math competition for high school seniors. Selina was selected for her project titled, ArTreeficial: A Novel AI-Integrated Solution to Reducing Invasive Spotted Lanternfly Populations.
Selina was first selected among 300 scholars who will be awarded $2,000 each and their schools will be awarded $2,000 for each enrolled scholar. Now as she was selected as a Finalist, she will be awarded $25,000 and will compete for even larger awards during a weeklong competition in Washington, D.C. The 40 Regeneron Science Talent Search finalists were chosen from 2,162 applicants from 712 high schools across 46 states, Puerto Rico and 10 other countries.
