North Hunterdon returns to the National High School Cheerleading Championship Division I Finals once again as they ranked among the best in the Nation.
On Sunday, February 11, 2018, The North Competitive Cheer team completed their two season long tournament with a 13th place Universal Cheerleaders Association (UCA) ranking of all Division 1 (D1) High Schools in the Large All-Girl Division in the Country. From October through December, thousands of D1 athletes on hundreds of Large teams (20 or fewer athletes) across the nation attempted to qualify for a bid to nationals. This is when North Hunterdon received their bid along with a prestigious 43 other schools. All of the schools met at the High School Nationals this weekend in Walt Disney World, Florida and competed against each other in three rounds, Preliminaries, Semi-Finals and Finals. Each round (Prelims and Semis) had an elimination of the bottom half of the teams until there was only 14 teams to compete against each other in the Finals round. Our North girls fought each round and received a National ranking of 13th in the Nation! What a great job by our competitive cheerleaders.

A magnificent job by our coaches: Head Coach: Mike Drulis, Assistant Coaches Lori Schuetz and Melissa Miranda and a Special Thanks to our school nurse Kristen Vitelli for attending and keeping the team healthy and the Lions Cheer Organization for their fundraising efforts throughout the school year!
