CLINTON TWP. — Students in the North Hunterdon English III College Prep class were able to make use of their new Chromebooks for presentations on a classic piece of literary work.
Under the guidance of teacher Regina Cavo and student teacher Lauren Heuer, the students utilized ThingLink to present research pertaining to aspects of Arthur Miller’s “The Crucible.” The program creates an interactive presentation using video, text, images and music.
Students were broken into groups and assigned topics that included Arthur Miller, the Cold War and Communism, McCarthyism and the Red Scare, the Puritans, witchcraft and the Salem Witch Trials. They were given three days in the library or computer lab to do research on the topics in groups and three nights to work on their own to finish up their individual ThingLink projects.
The finished products were presented in class on Tuesday, Oct. 13. Students were able to move around the classroom and view each other’s projects while answering questions about each topic addressed in the presentation.
