The Marching Bands from both North Hunterdon and Voorhees High Schools marched together in the 80th Annual Columbus Day Parade in New York City on October 14, 2024. The Columbus Day Parade in New York City is a yearly event that has been taking place since 1929. The parade includes marching bands, floats, and over 35,000 people participating. It starts on Fifth Avenue at 44th Street and goes all the way up to 79th Street. The parade typically begins around 11:30 AM and finishes around 3:00 PM.
We are very proud of the North Hunterdon and Voorhees District Marching Bands for their performance in the Columbus Day parade. Thanks to the band directors, Charlie Hopta and Joseph Reynolds, for making it possible for both bands to march together.
Back to Back years – The combined North Hunterdon/Voorhees District Marching Band ranked 2nd out of 20 Competing Marching Bands in the Columbus Day parade competition this past Monday.
