Thanks to a grant from the Special Olympics, for a second year in a row, North Hunterdon High School will offer Unified Sports. Unified sports brings together students with and without disabilities to compete in a variety of sports during the school year. On October 16th, North’s Unified Soccer team tied in its first game against Voorhees (click here for game report). The team, consisting of 7 students with disabilities and 5 without, will next compete in the Unified Cup against other schools at Mercer County Park on October 29. Good luck to our Unified athletes!
After soccer, North is offering Unified Bowling. Students will have the opportunity to practice their bowling skills on January 19, January 26 and February 2 at Oakwood Lanes in Washington, leading up to the Unified Cup for bowling in February. Friends and family are invited to join in the bowling fun! Lastly, Unified Basketball will be offered again this year, with practices beginning in February and continuing through to early April. The basketball team will be returning to the Unified Cup at Princeton University in April.
Please come out and cheer on our Unified athletes throughout the school year at the various sporting events!
