Ms Nicole Meister has always wanted to be a teacher and has a passion for her profession. She graduated from Ridge High School in 2002, where she played soccer, basketball, and softball. She attended The College of New Jersey, and graduated with Honors in 2006 with a Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics and Secondary Education.
Hired at North Hunterdon High School immediately out of college, Ms Meister has established a home in room 111. She was moved around for a few years in the earlier years of her career, but seems to be back in room 111 to stay for a while!
Ms Meister likes to be active within the North community. In the past, she had volunteered to coach a PowderPuff Football Team and has coached the JV cheerleading team for one season, and she is currently the Head Coach of the Dance Team (Basketball Cheerleading), a position she has held since the 2010-2011 school year. You can also find her enjoying the various other sporting events around during the school year as a fan, chaperoning many of the school dances, donating at the Blood Drives as often as possible, and supporting many of the fundraising events (such as the Mr. North competition).
Outside of North Hunterdon, Ms Meister is also very actively involved in softball, and her family used to mange a very competitive travel ball organization called the Jersey Inferno. Her family started this team in 2001 when she and her twin sister were being recruited to play softball in college, and has continued the program even after the two girls were too old to play. Throughout the existence of the team, she has had many roles within the structure of the organization including coaching, providing hospitality for college coaches at tournaments and recruiting combines, S.A.T. math tutoring for the players, and helping parents and players with the college recruiting process. Ms Meister spent most of her summer helping out with this team, and she loved being a part of such a respected organization within the softball community. Sadly, the team folded at the end of the 2017 summer season. She is currently looking for other adventures to fill her summers!
Ms. Meister started working on her Masters Degree from Western Governors University in October of 2016, and is proud to brag that she completed her degree as a Master of Mathematics Education by September of 2017. She is currently working towards her second Masters degree, but has decided to take her time with this one!
In the summer of 2018, Ms Meister also got married! She has decided to keep her maiden name for the time being (mostly because she JUST bought a new passport, haha!), but may consider changing her last name to her married name, Mrs. Vassallo, in the near future. Stay tuned!
