Welcome to Freshman Health!

361 HEALTH 9 Gr. 9 2.5 cr., 18 wks Freshman health is designed to help the student deal with the emotional and physical changes that take place during adolescence. This course explores the topics of stress, environmental health, communicable diseases and use and abuse of drugs, tobacco and alcohol. Sexually transmitted diseases and reproduction are also discussed in regard to the impact on their personal lives and society as a whole. Throughout each unit special emphasis is placed on being able to make responsible decisions and developing and practicing refusal skills.
