Are you interested in joining the French Honor Society?
Please see the information below to see if you are eligible to apply. If you believe you are eligible after reading the information below, please click on the links for the application form. Please fill out the application and bring it to Mme Decker along with a copy of your transcripts and/or report cards which show you have maintained an A average in French for two consecutive years. You will also need a check for $10.00 made out to NHAA for this year’s dues. All applications, transcripts and dues must be turned in by Friday, September 27, 2024.

Also, please know that in order to be inducted into the French Honor Society, you MUST attend the induction ceremony to recite the oath. You will NOT be a member unless you attend. The induction ceremonydate will be announced soon.
French Honor Society Eligibility Requirements:
As a member of the Société Honoraire de Français, the student agrees to maintain all of the requirements of eligibility. He/She should understand that to become a member:
1. He/She must be, at least, in the 10th grade, have completed French 2.
2. He/She must have maintained an “A” average in French for 2 consecutive years.
3. He/She must attend the induction ceremony for the Société Honoraire de Français or he/she will not be offered membership.
Additionally, as a member of the Société Honoraire de Français at North Hunterdon High School, he/she agrees that he/she must participate in the following ways:
- He/She must attend at least 50% of the meetings regularly held each month.
- He/She must pay his/her yearly dues.
- He/She must participate in at least one fundraising event each year.
- He/She must participate in at least one community service project each year.
- He/She must complete 3 hours of after school tutoring to assist peer with their study of French each year.
- He/She must attend the French Honor Society Induction Ceremony.
Finally, he/she must understand that the Société Honoraire de Français advisor may exercise the prerogative to revoke a student’s membership for reasons of failure to maintain a high scholastic average, of behavior inappropriate to an honor society, irregular participation in SHF activities, insufficient service hours, failure to attend the initiation ceremony, etc. (Students may only wear the official Société Honoraire de Français cords at graduation if they are considered an active member.)
Meetings
Meetings will be either the 2nd or 4th Tuesday of the month. All meeting dates and times will be announced in the French Honor Society google classroom page. See Mme Decker for details. Some meetings may be before school and some after school.
