Students enrolled in Mrs. Rosania-Harvie’s photography class have submitted their work to the New York Times Lens Blog entitled “My Hometown.” To see the students’ work, please visit the link below and then search for New Jersey in the upper right corner. Scroll through the submissions to look for hometowns in the VHS district such as Glen Gardner, High Bridge, Califon, etc. Great job by our students!

The New York Times challenged teenagers involved in community-based or in-school photography programs to capture their neighborhood, family, friends or school through a photograph. While participants only photographed their own communities, the images submitted to “My Hometown” create an important and lasting document of America today as seen by teenagers. They are published in an interactive feature that opens with a selection of 145 photographs and is also searchable by state and by photographer. Many of the images will be archived at the Library of Congress in the Prints and Photographs Division. The “My Hometown” project collected 4,289 images.
