May 10, 2023
Dear Members of the VHS Class of 2023 –
We are just a few weeks away from your grand finale. With that being said, I wanted to share with you the pertinent information you’ll need about what things will look like this June.
So, here are two documents you’ll want to look at thoroughly:
These documents will give you just about all the information you’ll need regarding Senior Awards night, graduation practice, what you should wear for graduation, what time you’ll need to be here, tickets, etc.
For now, please take a look at both of these documents CAREFULLY.
For those of you that are going to receive an award at Senior Awards Night (Tuesday, June 6 at 7pm), I will be emailing invitations (as award recipients’ names are provided to me) to both you and your parents/guardians. The plan is to get them all out before we leave for Memorial Day weekend. Sometimes names come in just a day or 2 prior so I apologize in advance for any late invites.
All of you need to make arrangements to be here for Graduation Practice on Monday, June 12 from 12:30pm to 3pm. If the weather calls for all day rain on 6/12, then the rain date for practice will be Tuesday, June 13 9:30am-noon. There are a number of important things that will take place at practice so please plan accordingly. If you have a legitimate conflict (college orientation perhaps), we need to have a conversation on or before June 6. Without that conversation, a no show at practice could jeopardize you walking on June 14. PTSO is planning to have Kona Ice here once practice is over.
For those of you that don’t plan to participate in graduation, please let me know as I’ll be preparing seating charts and procession lines in the near future. Also, we need to discuss when you can get your diploma as well as some other things.
For those of you that are interested in decorating caps, I’ll send out an email and/or announce when you can get them. I’m thinking we may be able to work it into your late arrival next week during testing. Stay tuned.
As always, please feel free to reach out with any questions or specific issues via email (mmcgeehan@nhvweb.net) or feel free to see me in school.
Enjoy your last prom, the upcoming senior trips, and your last few weeks at VHS.
