National Student Athlete Day was created to honor student athletes who have achieved excellence both in the classroom and on the playing field, while having made significant contributions to their school and/or communities. This event is nationally recognized on April 6 and is co-sponsored by the National Consortium for Academics and Sports (NCAS), Northeastern University’s Center for the Study of Sport in Society (Sport in Society), the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA), and the National Federation of State High School Associations.
