The Voorhees High School Unified Club participated in the Special Olympics Thanks4giving Dash and Splash again this year and raised $7,740, the 2nd highest team in the state for fundraising. Unfortunately, they were unable to make it to Asbury Park for the actual event, so the Lebanon Fire Department brought the water to them! On Wednesday, November 16th, students and advisors of the Unified Club were hosed down for their own Thanks4giving Splash at Voorhees High School.
To increase fundraising, Principal Ron Peterson promised he would dress in a penguin costume for the splash, and he did just that! Voorhees Unified fundraised a total of $7,740 with the top three fundraisers at Voorhees being students Annie Tramutola raising $1064, Wyatt Petto and Bella Jones who both raised $800, and Gianna Edmund raising $650. Voorhees Unified was proud to participate in another plunge and embody the message that they truly were, freezing for a reason – What reason? Building and growing the Unified Generation.
