On Thursday, March 20th and Friday, March 21st, the Voorhees High School chapter of Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) attended the Annual State Leadership Conference in Atlantic City, NJ. Students competed in several different types of competitive events from tests on business topics to public speaking. All of our Voorhees students did well, with some scoring 96% in their events. The most distinguished, however, was sophomore Karin Van Weeren, who scored a perfect 100% in Intro to Public Speaking. Karin tied for 1st place and through a tie breaker was awarded the 2nd place trophy. With this honor, Karin has earned a spot to represent New Jersey at the FBLA National Leadership Conference in San Antonio, Texas in the summer. Voorhees FBLA is currently running a few fundraisers to defray the cost of attendance at Nationals for Karin.
