On Sunday, October 20th, Voorhees High School’s Unified Soccer team competed in Division 3 for the Unified Soccer Cup at Mercer County Park. The team took home the gold medal, after going undefeated with 2 wins. Annie Tramutola and Joey Pasquale each had an assist. The top goal scorer for the tournament was Sebastian Duckworth with 6 goals. Jacob Zuniga (3 goals) and Julian Kuffo (1 goal) added another 4 goals in the tournament for Voorhees. The lockdown goalkeepers and strong defense held the other teams to 6 goals compared to Voorhees 10 goals scored. Voorhees had 17 saves, led by Julian Kuffo with 6 saves. More saves from goals in the net were Landon Groover (3 saves), Joey Pasquale (4 saves), and Giulianna Commetto, Natalie Hoffman, Finn Speckin, and Logan Saksa with 1 save each. Mikolas Rasmussen delivered a standout defensive performance, recording 12 crucial stops and proving to be an impenetrable force on the field.
