Dear Voorhees Students and Parents/Guardians:
I am writing to confirm that Voorhees High School will reopen for in-person instruction and we will start the hybrid schedule on Monday, September 14th. The mold in the area of the cafeteria has been remediated, air quality tests have been conducted, and the building has been cleared to reopen.
We are following the weekly schedule that is already in place for the district so Group B (last names M-Z) will be in school for in-person instruction the week of September 14th while Group A (last names A-L) will be at home on virtual instruction. With the hybrid schedule, the groups alternate each week. Please refer to the schedule posted on our bell schedules website to know which group is in the building for in-person instruction each week and which blocks will have class each day – http://www.nhvweb.net/vhs/home/administration/bell-schedule/.
Starting on Monday, September 14th, all parents for whom we have an email address in Aspen will receive the required pre-screening form in their email. The pre-screening is sent out at 5:30am. If you do not see the email, please check your junk and spam folders. If you cannot find the email in any folder, there is a backup link available in Aspen (log into parent account, click on Family top tab, click on student’s name, click on Health Screening Link by parent name). The pre-screening is required any day that your child is coming to the school for in-person instruction and/or fall sports or marching band. Pre-screening does not have to be completed if your child is on virtual instruction that day and not participating in sports or band.
Fall sports and marching band practices are also starting on Monday, September 14th. More information will be forthcoming from the athletic director.
As a reminder, masks are required for all students on the bus and throughout the school day. Per the Hunterdon County Department of Health, acceptable masks include cloth, surgical, dust or N95 masks. Students are not allowed to wear bandanas, gaiters or masks with valves or vents. We do have masks available if anyone’s mask breaks during the day.
Bus routes are posted in Aspen. Click on Family top tab, click on student’s name, then click on Transportation tab along the top row to find your child’s bus route information. If you have any issues with transportation, please call (908) 572-7708.
If you would like to review the district’s reopening plan, please visit our website: http://www.nhvweb.net/index.php/reopening-plan-for-2020-2021-school-year/.
We look forward to seeing Group B students in-person next week and Group A students the week of September 21st.
Sincerely,
Ron Peterson
Principal
