Qualifications for Middle States Planning Team Members:
- Understands planning process or is willing to learn
- Open-minded, visionary, and a creative thinker
- Well-respected and a decision shaper
- Flexible attitude and willing to work hard
- Cares about the school and its future
- willing to be “an equal among equals” in decision-making
- Is willing to give the time that is necessary to fulfill the role of a Planning Team Member
Planning Team Responsibilities:
- Contributes to developing/reviewing/revising the school’s Mission, Beliefs, Profile of Graduates, and student performance and organizational capacities
- Keeps the community informed of the Planning Team’s progress; serves as a conduit for input and feedback
- Meets with the Validation Team during its visit to the school
- Participates actively in the periodic reviews if the Plan for Growth and Improvement
- Helps to oversee the work of the Action Plan and Implementation Teams
- Assures that successes and accomplishments of the action plans are celebrated
- As requested, orients new staff, parents, and board members into the planning ethic
