To all faculty and students our annual spirit week leading up to the milk can game begins next week. For all those who are not aware this is our annual competition amongst the grades. Each grade will be scored on a variety of different events and competitions which include:
- The first competition is Penny wars where each grade will have a jug in the cafeteria where pennies count towards their score and any silver coins count against their score. So, start bringing those pennies in to support your grade and donate your nickels, dimes and quarters against the other grades!
- The second competition is Dress up days! The themes are as followed:
- Monday – Animal Kingdom (Worth 2X the points)
- Tuesday – Decades Day
- Wednesday – Neon
- Thursday – Red and Gold
- The third and very important competition is the non-perishable food drive. There are a large number of local families in need during this Holiday season. Voorhees has always been a major contributor to this food drive hosted by Kiwanis to help our local families enjoy a holiday season with their loved ones. There will be green bins on the first floor across from the elevators to donate food. Place your donations in your grade’s bin each day and Key Club will weigh the food. Each grade will be scored on the overall weight of the food brought in.
- Monday’s food donations are worth 4x times the points and the bonus item for double points is containers of peanut butter and containers of jelly. Lets kick the week off strong with our donations!
- Tuesday – 3x points and bonus is cornbread mix (Read Monday)
- Wednesday – 2x points and bonus is canned sweet potatoes (Ready Tuesday)
- Thursday is normal points and bonus is stuffing mix (Read Wednesday)
- Friday is normal points and bonus is canned vegetables (Read Thursday)
- The other competitive events are decorating on Wednesday night and tug of war, skits, and pie eating during the pep rally.
