The Meyerhoff Scholars Program at the University of Maryland, Baltimore County (UMBC) is currently accepting nominations. Applicants must have:
*at least a B average in college preparatory math/science courses
*outstanding SAT scores
*a genuine interest in science
*plan to pursue doctoral studies in (Ph.D. or the combined MD/Ph.D) in a STEM field
The Meyerhoff Scholars Program awards range from $10,000-22, 000 per year for out of state students.

Attention all skiers and snowboarders. The VHS Ski and Snowboard Club are hosting meetings about our upcoming trips to Camelback and Killington Vermont. Please attend one of the meetings for information. Meetings are TODAY, 11th, and 15th at 2:30 in room 144.

“The First Math Contest for the year will be held starting next Monday 10/15 after school in room 334. All students are encouraged to participate. Come on out to test your mathematical aptitude on some challenging question. Ask your math teacher or Mr. Unger for details or to answer any questions you may have. Allow at least 15 minutes to complete the contest. If you cannot make it Monday, you will have Wednesday and Thursday after school as make-up times. Hope to see you then.“

The Voorhees High School Art Department would like to announce that senior Julianna Vazquez has been selected as the September Art Student of the Month. She is being recognized for producing excellent artwork in both Drawing IV and Painting II during the month of September. Congratulations Julie!
