Q- Can a student take a physical education exemption if they play a school sponsored sport?
A- No, the district no longer has physical education exemptions. Every student must participate in physical education during each year of high school.
Q- If a student has a medical exemption from a doctor, does that affect their grade?
A- No, a medical exemption from a doctor excuses that student from physical education classes without any consequences, but students must complete medical excuse resource assignments to get credit for the class. The only exception to this is if a student has a concussion.
Q- When can a student make up a physical education class?
A- The student must make up the class any time during the marking period that the class was missed. The guidelines for doing a physical education make up can be found at the bottom of the PE Grading Policy page.
