• The Research Club will meet tomorrow in room 125. We will be finishing our practice circuit boards and getting an update on the muon particle detector project.
• The enrollment coach from RVCC, will be here on Thursday, January 19, for an informational session open to juniors and seniors. And Thursday, February 2, for an application session open to seniors only. The meetings will be in the Media Center from 9:43 until 10:38 on both days. Please see Ms. Fisher in the Counseling department to sign up.
• For all returning Boys’ Volleyball players and any new players, we will have an interest meeting on Wednesday, January 25th from 2:30-3:10 in Room 135B across from the Athletic Trainer’s room, and we will discuss our tryouts in March. Come be a part of our first ever Varsity season for Boys Volleyball! Interested players can email Mrs. Prado or Coach Matisak with any questions
• If you are interested in receiving service hours or joining Habitat for Humanity club, please email Mr. Travaline or an officer to be added to a list of volunteers. Volunteers make baked goods or serve the table at Habitat for Humanity’s next bake sale on January 25th. Join the Google Classroom with code: saavane.
• On Saturday, the girls fencing team won the Knights Invitational Tournament, hosted by Gill St. Bernard’s. The win was anchored by the saber squad, finishing 1st in their event. The foil and epee squads each finished in 4th place but provided enough wins to clinch the overall title.
• Congratulations to boys fencing foil squad for taking second at the Gil’s tournament. Job well done.
• Over the weekend, boys swimming had a good showing at the Skyland conference tournament, with the team earning a 4th place finish. The 200 Medley relay school record was broken again this year by Tate Hershfeld, Aiden Chen, Lucas Abd, and Ricardo Cosano. Lucas Abd also broke an individual school record in the 100 yard backstroke, and Ricardo Cosano had a 1st place finish in the 500 yard freestyle.
• Congratulations to the dance team for setting a program record at the dance team union regional competition this weekend. The team took home second place in the large varsity Pom category. Great job ladies!
