Sophomore right-hander Skye Cooke fired a four-hit shutout, walked three and struck out five, and teammate Katie Reed socked a three-run homer in the top of the sixth inning that proved the difference and the second-seeded North Hunterdon High School softball team captured the program’s first-ever Hunterdon/Warren/Sussex County Tournament championship, and just the second county title, with a 3-0 win over top-seeded three-time defending champ Hunterdon Central at Phillipsburg High School. Katie Reed was the game MVP who also had a great defensive double play in center field.
