Congratulations to the North Hunterdon High School Jazz Ensemble, who participated for the first time in school history in the NJAJE State Jazz Festival. The band performed last Thursday evening in the Preliminary round at Steinert High School in Hamilton, New Jersey, against 50 other bands across the whole state of New Jersey. North Jazz received a Gold rating in sight reading and a Silver rating overall, and this weekend, received word that they scored high enough to qualify as one of nine bands to advance to Group II state finals at the end of April. The band will next travel to participate in the getjazzed@berks Scholastic Festival at the prestigious Berks Jazz Fest in Reading, Pennsylvania. Congratulations to everyone on a job well done!
