Yesterday, the NHHS Jazz Ensemble performed in the getJazzed@Berks Scholastic Festival, part of the greater Berks Jazz Fest, in Reading, PA. The band’s performance featured solos by seniors Krish Chandel, Cullen Elliott, Josh Evans, Lily Fasciano, Lucas Holbrook, and Charlie Lisa, with Charlie Lisa being recognized as an outstanding soloist for the whole festival. The band spent the day attending master classes and clinics, and ended with a guest artist concert given by professional jazz drummer Steve Smith and his band “Vital Information”. The band next performs at the NJAJE Group II State Finals on Saturday April 27th, at Princeton High School. Congratulations North Jazz!




The next computer science club meeting will be today in room 212 after school.

Latin Honor Society will host a Bake Sale and Orange Julius Saletoday after school in the mall. Come try an Orange Julius and Mrs. Mullay’s bread or some baked treats.

Seniors! There are still local scholarships available. For example, if you are planning on majoring in the wonderful field of education, there are three available opportunities; The Michael Kursar Scholarship, The Kathryn Berger Scholarship and The Delta Kappa Gamma Scholarship. There are other scholarships available as well. Please check out the counseling website or contact Ms. Craske in the Guidance Department.

The English Honor Society will be holding a book sale next week (4/15-4/19) during lunches in Cafe B. Great books for even better prices!

Greg DeSanctis of the RVCC Honors College and NJ Starts Programs will be at North for an information session on Monday, April 15 at 9:30 AM in the Media Center. If you have an 87% or above GPA, you qualify for the Honors Program. To qualify for the NJ Starts Program, you must be in the top 15% of your class by the end of your junior and senior years. If you are thinking about going to Raritan Valley Community College (or have already applied) and you are interested in the Honors College and possibly the NJ Starts Program, please see Ms. Fisher in the Counseling Office to sign up for the visit! You can email her or stop by. You will receive a SmartPass on the day of the session.
